Mission
The Business Incubator works to encourage and support creative initiatives and ideas that lack the financial resources and high expertise to realize these projects, thus the incubator represents a vital project to invest energies in building small projects and startups that after years may be one of the pillars of development and prosperity
Objectives
The main objective of the incubator is to support creative and innovative ideas and projects that are practically applicable and to utilize the advisory cadre of university professors in productive works and ultimately marketing of companies and emerging projects to support the national economic activity, and there are other objectives for the creation of the incubator division, including: –
A- Spreading the culture of entrepreneurship among university students, affiliates, graduates and the community
. B- Training on the creation of small projects and avoiding the failures that occur in them
C- Educating entrepreneurs on how to protect their innovations and creativity
D- Adopting entrepreneurial ideas and providing technical support
E- Train and support entrepreneurs in business planning and provide them with support during the implementation period
F-vercoming the administrative, financial and legislative obstacles facing entrepreneurs in Iraq by activating mechanisms within the legislation in force to serve the projects within the university
Business incubators are an integrated environment that provides all consultations, technologies and all kinds of support for small and medium-sized startups to grow, succeed and stabilize, and business incubators can provide consultations in the correct management of investment funds for entrepreneurs.
The Division contributes to the preparation of a plan to change the administrative, financial and legislative environment in Iraq to allow universities to manage incubators in a way that enhances the university’s contribution to serving the national economy from the development of the private sector. The incubator provides consultants with expertise in the specialty and the appropriate place for creators, inventors and those with creative ideas, as well as providing support in business management, discussing issues, providing legal specialists to protect the innovator and others
It can be said that the type of incubator is viewed from three aspects, the first of which is geographical, where it can be said that the incubator is a regional incubator, the second is the target group, which is entrepreneurs from Kufa University affiliates, students and graduates, and the third is the type of services it provides to entrepreneurs, and in this sense an incubator with integrated services that provide support for entrepreneurial businesses by spreading the culture of entrepreneurship, encouraging it, and providing support for small projects from the beginning of being an idea to being applied on the ground in technical, financial, administrative and legal aspects.
The organizational structure of the incubator consists of four levels
A- he Board of Directors: – It is selected by the University Presidency and represents the highest legal authority and is selected from among its members as the director of the incubator
B- Incubator management: – headed by the incubator director, who is responsible for managing the daily work of the incubator and directly supervises the administrative and technical staff
C- Supporting bodies: – Representing all organizations, departments and investors who provide financial support for projects
D- Consultants: – A group of experts from professors of colleges participating in the incubator projects, whose main function is to study the projects and evaluate them as valid and useful for incubation or not according to an evaluation model prepared for this purpose, as well as giving continuous advice during the incubation period of the project
