The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department was established at the inception of the university and is directly administratively linked to the university president. It is one of the essential and modern departments focused on utilizing the latest models and practices to ensure quality, evaluate performance, monitor the implementation of university goals, and enhance the university’s efficiency and competitiveness, as well as its educational outcomes, with the aim of achieving academic accreditation. The department is also dedicated to improving the performance of university staff, including faculty and employees, as well as providing training and technical support.
Responsibilities of the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department:
Oversee department staff and distribute tasks among units.
Develop plans and programs for the department’s operations.
Review incoming correspondence and refer it to the relevant units.
Respond to inquiries from colleges and institutes regarding quality standards in their programs.
Conduct field visits to colleges and institutes to deliver lectures and assess their compliance with quality standards.
Identify performance gaps in colleges and institutes and evaluate the extent of these gaps.
Communicate with colleges and institutes to establish frameworks that align with standards for developing educational materials and job descriptions, among others.
Deliver lectures to university staff to promote a culture of quality.
Prepare necessary reports to provide information to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in various fields.
Complete sections related to quantitative and qualitative indicators and send them to the ministry.
Maintain an updated database for faculty, staff, and the infrastructure of university colleges and institutes.
Monitor university activities and generate quarterly reports on achievements for the university president.
Participate in relevant committees within the university and at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Organize training and development courses for staff in the quality and performance units across all university colleges and institutes.
Propose recommendations and advice aimed at enhancing performance.
Contribute to the development of the university’s strategic and operational plans.
Monitor the implementation of ministerial programs.
Prepare the university’s annual report.
Conduct annual performance evaluations for senior leadership, including deans, and supervise the documentation of all electronic evaluation form requirements.
Oversee the annual performance evaluation of the university president using a specific form provided by the ministry.
Conduct an annual self-evaluation of university performance.
Stay updated on new developments in quality assurance and disseminate this information to the university’s colleges and institutes to enhance the application of quality standards.
Monitor the activities of quality assurance and performance units in university colleges and institutes.
Develop policies and procedures within the university.
Identify performance issues and work to resolve them across all university colleges and institutes.
Tasks of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department:
Create appropriate avenues for promoting a culture of quality across the university and disseminating it to all colleges, institutes, centers, and departments.
Establish a specialized library to gather information about quality assurance and accreditation systems for regional and international educational institutions.
Develop clear criteria for evaluating and improving the performance of faculty members based on the effectiveness of the university’s colleges and academic departments, in accordance with university service laws.
Build an integrated system for evaluating and improving the performance of administrative staff across all relevant areas based on the activation of university departments and their affiliates.
Develop a comprehensive system for ongoing self-evaluation of all university activities and processes.
Implement appropriate training programs based on the actual needs of the approved quality programs for staff working in the department or affiliated units, and suggest necessary programs for implementation abroad.
Provide support to colleges, institutes, and centers in selecting and adopting the standards that will serve as a starting point for achieving academic accreditation.
Develop a plan for implementing quality programs in colleges and institutes by creating links between the central department and affiliated units, based on predetermined quality objectives.
Compile detailed data and statistics about the university’s colleges, institutes, centers, and departments to ensure their usefulness in writing quality and accreditation reports.
Monitor the implementation of the approved system through audit tours and regular evaluations of sites to assess performance effectiveness.
Assess the compliance of colleges, institutes, centers, and university departments with quality standards and report to the University Quality Council.
Ensure that educational programs and processes are carried out in accordance with the legal requirements and regulations pertaining to those degrees or certifications.
