The Continuing Education Center organizes a workshop on the skills required in the labour market to enhance students’ professional readiness


As part of the Southern Technical University’s efforts to strengthen its role in community development and empower young people to achieve a promising future,

The  Continuing Education center organized a workshop entitled:

“Skills required in the labour market”

The workshop was presented by Dr. Maher Talib Abdul Zahra, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Official of the Division of Qualification, Employment and Follow-up.

The workshop focused on reviewing the basic skills required by the modern labour market, how to obtain certified certificates for these skills, as well as discussing the requirements of current jobs and their relationship to soft skills and technical skills. The workshop also addressed the importance of measuring professional competence based on employers’ standards.

The workshop concluded with practical solutions and comprehensive guidance, aimed at enabling participants to meet the requirements of the labour market and successfully keep pace with its developments.
