The launch of the professional safety course in the workshops and the management of laboratories at the Southern Technical University

As part of the activities of the Development Division of the Continuing Education Centre   of the Southern Technical University, a new training course entitled “Occupational Safety in Workshops and Laboratory Management” was launched, targeting the staff of the University’s workshops and laboratories. The course aims to raise awareness of the importance of occupational safety and provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain a safe working environment, in line with global safety standards.

The course included key topics on how to avoid occupational hazards, mechanisms for dealing with hazardous substances, preventive actions in different working environments, as well as how to effectively manage risks in workshops and laboratories. The importance of safety in operation and maintenance, and methods of using equipment properly and safely was also addressed.

The course was highly interactive with participants, reflecting their awareness of the importance of these training programmes in promoting the working environment and maintaining workers’ health and safety. The course was lectured by both , Mr. Ahmed Abdel Nabi Sadik, professional safety specialist, and Mr. Zeid Abdel Karim Abdel Razak, who in turn gave lectures on safety applications in workshops and laboratories.

This course comes within the framework of the Southern Technical University’s endeavour to provide a safe working environment for all its members, and to promote a culture of professional safety among staff.
