Iraq is ranked first in the Arab world and seventh in the world in the number of universities participating in the Times Sustainable Development classification

In confirmation of the educational services index in Iraqi universities and their various academic programs and their connection to the path of sustainable development and its goals, facing challenges, keeping pace with changes, contributing to awareness-raising and providing scientific solutions, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces that Iraq has achieved the first place in the Arab world and the seventh place globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024 in terms of the number of universities participating in the 2024 edition, which witnessed the competition of 2152 from 125 countries around the world. Based on the results achieved that showed Iraq in a distinguished ranking, Iraqi higher education and scientific research institutions are proceeding with full confidence in improving the quality of university performance and providing a positive educational environment that meets the requirements of scientific knowledge and technical skills required to serve society and the standards of good education and academic accreditation that are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
