Under the patronage and participation of the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, and in line with the vision of the university presidency to enhance environmental sustainability and within the framework of preserving the green university environment within the requirements of global classifications, for example (Green Metrics), and with the aim of raising environmental awareness, encouraging and supporting the spirit of initiative, and seeking to develop volunteer work among all, the presidency of the Southern Technical University launched a campaign to plant evergreen trees suitable for the environment in Basra Governorate. It is worth noting that the campaign is a first step that will be followed by many steps with the aim of planting the largest possible number of trees in the university sites. The President of the Southern Technical University stressed that addressing desertification by increasing green spaces requires the concerted efforts for the purpose of planting and planting seedlings in all university formations and increasing.
Education about the importance of afforestation to combat the harsh changes in the available and its repercussions on the Nile reality, as it contributes to creating a suitable outlet for students.
