The Technical Institute / Shatrah held a scientific symposium on sustainable agriculture and modern irrigation methods. This symposium comes within the program of the fourth day of the Agricultural Week activities under the slogan Our Sustainable Agriculture is Permanent Oil. It was attended by .. M. Awad Khalaf Balout / Director of the Agricultural Equipment Branch in Shatrah, and was attended by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Muwaffaq Abdul Aziz Al-Hasnawi, the Assistant Dean, a number of researchers and agricultural engineers, and some of the affiliates and students. The lecturer addressed the following topics: A general introduction to sprinkler irrigation, conditions of use and the economic feasibility of sprinkler irrigation, as well as types of sprinkler irrigation systems, advantages of sprinkler irrigation, factors affecting the choice of a sprinkler irrigation system, types of sprinklers, water distribution pattern, overlap and distances between sprinklers

The objectives of the symposium were to adopt the use of modern irrigation methods that enhance the rationing of available irrigation water in the best way to maintain sustainability in irrigating crops and plants grown in all fields and forms, preserving the topography of the land in irrigation when compared with the old traditional irrigation methods that cause several problems for the land and the grown plants alike, and the possibility of using modern irrigation methods in uneven lands and newly reclaimed lands.
