The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research ranked first in the general classification of the General Secretariat of the Council
Ministers for volunteer initiatives in Iraq. This came in the second annual report on the volunteer initiatives achieved by the ministries for the year 2023 issued by the Department of Government Coordination and Citizen Affairs in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, where the results documented that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research obtained first place for volunteer initiatives and activities in 17 humanitarian fields.
The topics of the report included volunteer initiatives and activities and their fields, volunteer initiatives, the environment of the governorates in which volunteer work was carried out, and the groups benefiting from the initiative, while the report recommended including the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, among three ministries, to the membership of the Permanent Committee for Volunteer Work for the year (2023-2024).
