The Qurna Technical Institute within the Southern Technical University organized a symposium on the effects of smoking on human health and the environment, with the participation of the institute’s students
The symposium, which was lectured by Muhannad Neema Abd ALSayed, the unit’s official, included the presence of many chemicals in one cigarette, including methane gas, arsenic, fuel, and nicotine, which are carcinogenic substances. The number of smokers in the world is estimated at 1.10 billion people, and it causes the death of more than eight million person per year
The symposium aims to explain the extent of the effect of smoking on the human body’s systems, as well as its effect on infection with the Corona virus and the harms resulting from smoking.
