In the presence of the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, the volunteer team from the Basra Technical Engineering College organized a cleanup campaign on one of the facades of Mount Sinam in the Safwan district, west of Basra province. The campaign was participated in by students from the college in collaboration with the Municipality Directorate of Safwan district, the Tourism and Antiquities Directorate, as well as some satellite channels and news agencies. The university president emphasized that one of the university’s main cultural and civilizational roles is to preserve the tourist environment and enhance its status by presenting it in the correct manner. He noted that the participation of our students in this campaign is a clear message that the university is the true incubator for the development of creative national spirit. He further stated that the university’s projects continue to provide its scientific and social services to fulfill its mission and objectives. On her part, the Dean of the Basra Technical Engineering College, Dr. Layla Bilasim Hashim, explained that today’s campaign witnessed the participation of several departments from the college, and it is a blessed initiative from the university president aimed at promoting a spirit of work and participation in preserving a clean tourist environment.”
