The College of Health and Medical Technologies within the Southern Technical University organized a training course on measuring vitamin D using the ELFA technology (enzyme linked fluorescent assay), which was held by the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies in cooperation with the Scientific Division and the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit in the college for five days in the bio technology laboratory.
The course included an explanation of the importance of vitamin D in the human body, a complete definition of ELFA technology, and how laboratory devices work with this technology, and then getting acquainted with the mini VIDAS device that works with ELFA technology in tests for detecting early cancers, hormones, viruses, and immune diseases. It was discussed through Course on the difference between ELFA technology and its difference from ELISA technology
The course also covered practical training for participants in measuring vitamin D for each participant by working with the mini VIDAS device to enable the participant to work on the device and keep up with the requirements of the labor market in government and private hospital laboratories.
