The Southern Technical University discussed ways of joint cooperation with the General Company for Iron and Steel, this came during the meeting of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq in his office with the General Manager of the company, Mr. Abbas Hayal, and the two sides stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of applied scientific research and holding courses to enhance skills, as well as establishing joint scientific programs, Atiq indicated the university’s readiness to implement the qualification courses that the company needs in various disciplines, pointing out that the university has scientific capacities capable of working to find solutions to the issues that accompany production processes in manufacturing companies. It is worth mentioning that the General Iron and Steel Company (SCIS) is one of the companies affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and is a public sector company fully owned by the state and the only company specialized at the level of Iraq in its diverse production (reinforcing iron, sponge iron, spirally welded iron pipes – and longitudinally welded iron pipes).University Media
