The Basra Technical Institute, within the Southern Technical University, organized a scientific course on biosensors in medical diagnosis. The course, in which Dr. Ali Ghanem Kataa lectured, included an introduction to biosensors, their composition, and applications in the field of biosensors, as well as medical diagnosis, represented by blood sugar testing devices and a home pregnancy test device. About (Covid) The course aims to train attendees on how to use biosensors in many applications, such as devices for measuring blood sugar and environmental dyes such as agricultural pesticides and toxins, and in detecting food contamination with microbes and monitoring chemical and biological reactions. The course summarized that what distinguishes detection with these devices is High sensitivity to low concentrations of pathogens, as well as high selectivity for the same pathogen for which the test was designed, in addition to the speed and simplicity of measurement.
