The Follow-up Department at the Southern Technical University organized an awareness symposium on spreading security culture among its members. The symposium, in which security follow-up members in the university’s formations in Basra Governorate participated, aimed to follow up on the negative phenomena that some students deal with, including the phenomenon of smoking, and spread health and cultural awareness and its impact on their health, as well as providing Security and safety for the presidency of the university and the colleges, through a sense of security, the art of good treatment and mutual respect. The symposium, in which the Department Director, Mr. Ahmed Zidan Nisan, lectured, included topics including the preparation of academically qualified students who possess character and ethics and are keen on adhering to the scientific method and the intention of behavior and habits that violate public morals, in addition to preparing An action plan that ensures the safety of the university and colleges (teachers and students) by securing the entrances and exits and the main street. The symposium concluded the importance of educational awareness of the necessity of adhering to instructions and high discipline for students, and the importance of correct treatment and mutual respect between follow-up officials, associates, and students.
