The work of the seventeenth session of the University Council for the year 2022/2022 was held at the Southern Technical University in the presence of the rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Rabiee Hashim Abbasi and assistants, as well as the deans of formations, the council discussed what was put forward at the eighth session of the meeting of the opinion body and the most important instructions and recommendations approved during it, the attendees also discussed the memorandum of the assistant rector for Scientific Affairs on the nomination of trainees for the human development course, and the book of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research on students who did not perform summer training, the meeting reviewed the ministry’s book regarding the renaming of the computer systems department he switched his specialization to engineering specialties after he was within the administrative specialization. The council discussed the amendment to the University Service Law No. 23 of 2008 and the emphasis on some of its paragraphs regarding the tasks of those covered by the law to ensure the proper conduct of the scientific process, and the discussion of the memorandum of the Graduate Studies department, which indicated that the supervisor of the master’s thesis should have the rank of a teacher with a doctorate degree two years after the last Certificate. The council then reviewed the most important items on the agenda and made the necessary recommendations and decisions
