The Southern Technical University began implementing the training program for developing leadership cadres in the university’s formations. The Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Alaa Farid Abdul-Ahad, stated that this program, which the university began implementing, came based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, university policy, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Rabiee Hashem Tajil Al-Abbasi, President of the University, led the main committee responsible for implementing the training programs and the axes: administrative control and financial affairs, legal affairs, skills development, capacity building and quality, pointing out the participation of the lecturers in giving lectures to the participating subjects, including heads of scientific departments and officials of divisions and units in colleges and institutes. University formations in Basra Governorate, adding that the program is approximately (10) days and over the course of three months to include all senior, middle, and executive university leadership of all university formations in the governorates of Basra, Thi Qar, and Maysan, as well as the departments and university presidency centers.
