The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the Basra Technical Institute within the Southern Technical University organized a symposium on the environment and reducing emissions. The symposium, which was held under the slogan (Awareness of Preserving the Environment and Reducing Emissions), included topics including air, water and soil pollution and the sources of this pollution, as well as the risks and steps that would reduce it.
The symposium, in which the lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Technologies, Dr. Ali Fakher Habib, taught, aimed to introduce the importance of the environment and its preservation, as it is an Islamic approach called for by our true religion.
In addition to the most important steps that must be followed in order to reduce pollution and dangerous gas emissions.
The symposium, which was moderated by the head of the Women’s Empowerment, Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the institute, Ms. Shafak Qasim, summarized recommendations, including raising awareness among others and informing them of the importance of preserving the environment from pollution, reducing the use of harmful chemicals, working to intensify tree planting and raising awareness about it, and paying attention to afforestation in homes and roads.
