The eleventh session of the university council was held at the Southern Technical University in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Rabiee Hashim Al Abbasi, assistants, as well as members of the University Council. Al Abbasi began the session by congratulating the attendees on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, wishing everyone good, progress and success, asking God to save Iraq and provide everyone with security and safety, after which he directed his excellency the importance of sending schedules for final exams and receiving exam books. The council reviewed the decisions and directives of the Opinion Panel at its last meeting, through which His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research stressed the importance of launching scientific competitions among students and directing them to carefully search for answers in scientific sources, in addition to following up on deviant ideas within the university environment and the need to reduce them, such as drug promotion, through holding awareness workshops and seminars in cooperation with the leadership of the Governorate Police and other security agencies, urging the deans of the University formations to develop a comprehensive cultural plan that takes upon itself to renounce and combat this phenomenon. The council discussed the scientific results conference and the scientific research conference for students, which will be held on two days 10-11/5/2023 after that, the attendees discussed the items on the agenda and made the necessary recommendations and decisions
