The qualification and employment unit, in cooperation with the Department of computer systems technologies at the Qurna technical institute within the Southern Technical University, organized a workshop on the basics of Occupational Safety within the annual plan of the unit with the participation of a number of students. The workshop aims to introduce the participants on how to protect the human element from injuries caused by the hazards of the work environment and to provide and implement all occupational safety and health requirements while providing a safe environment that achieves the Prevention of risks to the human and physical elements. The workshop, delivered by Dr. Ali Fadhel Hassan, included topics such as identifying the concept of Occupational Safety and security, standards of Public Safety and health management, activating emergency and Risk Response Plans, introducing safety principles and classifications, how to avoid risks in scientific laboratories, safety methods at work sites and the importance of following safety guidelines and civil defense systems.
