The Southern Technical University discussed ways of joint cooperation between it and Basra Gas Company, this came during a meeting between the president of the University, Prof. Dr. Rabih Hashem Abbasi in his office with the authorized director of the company, Mr. Andrew Weber. During the meeting, Abbasi explained the importance of joint work between the University and companies operating in Basra governorate and at all levels because of the positive return it represents on both sides, pointing out that the University, with its important infrastructure and distinguished scientific capabilities, is able to meet the needs in the private and government sectors. For his part, Weber expressed his happiness with this visit, wishing the university success and further joint cooperation in the near future. The meeting witnessed the honoring of Mr. Andrew Weber with the University shield in appreciation of the company’s role by gifting the Basra Technical Institute a set of electronic computers as a contribution to supplying the University formations with equipment and devices that contribute to enhancing cooperation. It is noteworthy that the visiting delegation, the president of the University, the dean of the Institute and the teaching staff toured the workshops and laboratories of the institute to get acquainted with the educational reality and the university environment
