The technology incubator unit at the Southern Technical University carried out an advanced workshop on the impact of applying reverse engineering methodology on the success of sustainable innovative Reverse Engineering projects
The workshop, which was attended by the assistant to the president of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Salem Thamer, and attended by the head of the unit, engineer Sana Hassan zubun, introduced reverse engineering, its function and method of operation, and an attempt to manufacture a system similar to the original system, starting from identifying the product, designing its initial form, feasibility study for each part through the product record and the information and data analysis stage. The workshop examined the case of replacing iron liquid puzzle cylinders with plastic cylinders at the Basra gas filling plant, where the advantages of weight, safety and cost were discussed. The workshop concluded that there is a cognitive and creative integration between finding alternatives to reduce costs and the quality of the original product from value engineering and the application of reverse engineering methodology and technology in any system to be analyzed into its basic parts
