It recommended encouraging research in the field of artificial intelligence and integration between the medical and engineering sectors with research. The Southern Technical University concludes the activities of its sixth scientific conference on advanced medical and engineering technologies

In the presence of the Scientific Assistant to the President of the University, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Alaa Fareed Abdul-Ahad, the activities of the Sixth Scientific Conference on Advanced Medical and Engineering Technologies were concluded at the Nasiriyah Technical Institute, which was organized by the Southern Technical University with the support and participation of Thi Qar University, Al Ain University and the National University as well as Thi Qar Oil Company.

 

The two-day conference, in which researchers from Iraq and abroad participated, dealt with axes, including medical and biological engineering techniques, life sciences, and community health, as well as electrical engineering, information technology, and data security, in addition to mechanical engineering techniques, mechatronics, and other scientific research.

The conference came out with recommendations read by the Dean of the Technical Institute of Nasiriyah, Prof. Dr. Khawam Raisan Hussein, including that it be held on an annual basis to encourage scientific research, deepen the exchange of experiences, and attract visiting professors from international universities to benefit from scientific expertise, in addition to increasing cooperation between universities and research centers and focusing on Scientific research related to nanotechnology and renewable energy.

The conference participants also recommended the necessity of encouraging research in the field of artificial intelligence, integration between the medical and engineering sectors in research, establishing a national center to support and coordinate scientific research, approving research plans in postgraduate studies, and assisting researchers.

The conference stressed in its recommendations the use of technological means in the discovery, diagnosis and treatment of serious diseases, stressing the importance of establishing a research center for university formations to increase cooperation and provide consultations to researchers and postgraduate students.

In conclusion, the participants demonstrated the importance of raising awareness about parasitic diseases transmitted by animals, partnership with humans, and directing attention to the disposal of medical and biological waste in hospitals and slaughterhouses.
