The Technical Institute in Basra within the Southern Technical University hosted Dr. Okada, head of the Middle East Forum, who specializes in the study of Arab heritage, giving a cultural lecture to the Department of Nursing Techniques at the Institute. The lecture included Okada’s vision of the Iraqi people, their culture and history that extends for thousands of years, and the possibility of creating communication between the Iraqi and Japanese peoples in a way that serves both parties through the involvement of university professors and students in education. Programs between Japanese universities, as well as establishing a mechanism for understanding regarding the work of Japanese commercial, engineering and construction companies and the local government in Basra Governorate. It is noteworthy that the university seeks through its cultural programs to attract visiting professors in international universities to create an attractive scientific environment between them and university professors in a way that serves everyone.
