Under the direct guidance of the President of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Rabee Hashem Al-Abbasi, the building of the Student Affairs Division at the Technical Institute in Basra was reopened after it was rehabilitated according to modern technical specifications.
Al-Abbasi, upon inaugurating the building, stressed the university’s endeavor to implement important urban projects that would raise the pace of construction and reconstruction in all university formations.
Pointing out that the construction and urbanization operations will continue through the support of the Ministry and the local government in the governorates of southern Iraq, in which the university formations are distributed.
Adding that there are promising projects in the administrative technical college in Basra and the technical college in Thi Qar, as well as the sports hall project in the Nasiriyah Technical Institute, which will be an important sign added to the institute.
It is noteworthy that the university has witnessed re-work in many projects that were referred to implementation, but they were stopped due to the previous financial crisis, as companies started working on them, and it is hoped that they will be completed in the first quarter of next year.
