The Student Activities Department and the Psychological Guidance and Direction Division at the Southern Technical University, in cooperation with the Environmental Pollution Unit at the Technical Institute of Basra, organized a symposium on the mechanisms and proposals that can be adopted in combating the spread of the drug phenomenon in society.
The symposium, in which the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Salem Thamer, taught about the dangers of drugs and their negative impact on social and moral relations,
And the importance of the family in the face of this dangerous scourge, as well as the role of universities and civil society organizations to contain this phenomenon and limit its repercussions through holding conferences and working papers in this regard.
The symposium, which was organized under the slogan (Drugs and Addiction, Effects and Complications, and Treatment Steps), aims to introduce work mechanisms and adopt integrated programs for this phenomenon.
