An engineering and media delegation from the Southern Technical University, which included the heads of the Civil Technologies Departments, Engineer Haider Al-Diwan and Surveying Technologies, Engineer Louay Muzahim, at the Technical Institute of Basra, as well as the Director of the Media and Public Relations Department.reviews about the stages of restoration and rehabilitation of heritage houses in Basra Governorate.
Haider Al Diwan stated, in a statement to the university’s media, that this visit comes in accordance with the directives of the university president, Prof. Dr.Rabee Hashem Al-Abbasi, through which he directed the importance of communicating with the UNESCO for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, which took upon itself the restoration and rehabilitation of approximately 150 heritage houses in Basra. And deepening the work between the university and its students in the fields of construction, civil and surveying.
Pointing out that the students of the Technical Institute in Basra will have field visits to the work site in the near future, so that this urban experience will be part of their graduation projects.
From his part, the official of training and media in organization , Mr. Taqi Al-Mansoori, expressed the importance of this visit, as it indicates the university’s interest in this work.Especially the specializations available in it that simulate the work carried out by the engineering cadres in this distinguished project, because it will restore the heritage life of these homes and cultural centers to be at a level that befits the civilization of Basra and its deep heritage.
