The Southern Technical University held its thirteenth session for this year, in the presence of the President of the University and the assistants, as well as the deans of colleges and institutes.

The council discussed the maintenance of the internal departments and the self-assessment report, while those concerned with the Bologna educational path were hosted in this session. Dr. Zaid Alaa Hussein from the Technical Administrative College of Basra explained the university’s steps in this file, explaining that the university had launched an electronic questionnaire on the labor market for graduate students, employers and teachers.
Through it, samples were selected by placing them in the program during the coming months to determine the subjects and how to teach its, provided that the students can work on this program.
Then the attendees discussed the other items on the agenda and took the necessary recommendations.

The Continuing Education Center at the Southern Technical University organized an official ceremony attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Rabee Hashem Al-Abbasi and his assistant for administrative affairs, as well as the assistant of the Provincial Affairs Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Authority in Basra, Mr. Baqir Al-Shoki, during which the trainees were awarded a certificate of participation in computer courses, occupational safety and the English language.
Al-Abbasi confirmed that cooperation with this important segment of society will continue with new technical courses that will qualify the participants to enter the labor market, as the university will be the main support for them.
From his part, Al-Shouki expressed his thanks and appreciation to the presidency of the university, wishing its employees success and progress, pointing out that what the university provided to the trainees is commendable as it possesses training, rehabilitation and logistical experiences, which helped the trainees to have their participation useful.
On the other hand, the Director of the Planning and Control Department at Jaafar Al-Tayyar Complex for the Rehabilitation of the Wounded, Sheikh Qaiser Al-Tamimi, praised the great cooperation between the university and the center at all levels, stressing that this cooperation will have positive repercussions in the future as it serves the community and all its segments. Indicating at the same time the extent of cooperation and future work, which will be supportive of the trainees and fulfill their ambitions, thanking at the same time the Director of the Continuing Education Center for the good treatment and warm reception.
The trainees, from their part, expressed their satisfaction with the great cooperation they experienced in the field of providing information and training on the specialized devices. They hope that there will be other courses specialized in the fields of welding, mechanical and electronic workshops, and refrigeration, as they simulate the labor market.
At the end of the ceremony, Jaafar Al-Tayyar Center presented memorial shields to the president of the university, the teachers and those who contributed to the success of these courses. Graduation certificates were also distributed to the trainees.
