The Department of Tissue implant and Medicinal Plants Techniques at the Shatrah Technical College within the Southern Technical University organized a scientific seminar on the water plant azollaa.
The episode in which the teacher Rabab Mutashar Naima taught included under the title (Aquatic Azolla Plant, the Green Gold Mine), axes including the identification of the watery Azolla plant and the basic conditions for the growth and reproduction of Azolla, in addition to the benefits and characteristics of this plant.The seminar aims to know the different applications and uses of the water plant azollaa after its spread in the Iraqi rivers, as well as other benefits.
The study concluded that it can be used successfully in agriculture as a natural nitrogen fertilizer for its ability to fix nitrogen, as it is a food source for humans and is used in water purification and it is a good and cheap food source for animals and poultry.
