The Southern Technical University participated in the Baghdad Forum for the Development and Empowerment of Iraqi Women, which was held from 21-23/1/2022 and in the Halls of Dar Al-Hikma. This event took place during the participation of the Dean of the Technical Institute in Shatrah, Prof. Muwaffaq Abdul Aziz Al-Hasnawi, in a research paper on “The Impact of the Internet in Building the Positive Character for Women in Iraq.” Dr. Sophia Razzaq from the Shatrah Technical Institute also participated in the forum, representing the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the university, with a research on the obstacles to women’s education, causes and solutions. The research included the legal aspects and international and local regulations for women’s education, and the researcher concluded with recommendations, the most important of which is to support women’s opportunities in work and more chances in education and provide incentives to complete their studies, in addition to encouraging and developing skills and handicrafts and supporting them from schools to preserve the heritage and encourage girls to provide a source of income. As well as cooperating with other sectors in granting housing, agricultural and other loans allocated to the countryside
