ِAmara Technical Institute at the Southern Technical University has organized a seminar on drug abuse and psychological and social dangers to drug abusers. The head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, the lecturer Ali Abdullah Saihoud, in addition to Lieutenant-Colonel Idan Abdullah and Kadhim AbdulRazaq from Maysan Governorate Police, have participated in this seminar. The seminar aims to educate students about the most important dangers that result from drug abuse and the negative effects of drug use on society, especially at the level of students. The seminar included several topics, including the types of drugs and the health effects on drug abusers, as well as the social and moral effects, in addition to legal penalties for them. The seminar concluded that it is necessary to spread cultural and health awareness about the dangers of drug abuse in order to protect society from this dangerous scourge, limit the spread of this phenomenon, and follow legal and health means to reduce it.
