Dhi Qar Technical College within the Southern Technical University, in cooperation with the Directorate of Police of Dhi Qar Governorate, the Anti-Narcotics Department in the province, organized an awareness seminar on combating drugs and limiting of its spread
The symposium, which was attended by the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, ayad abed Majed, included identifying what narcotic substances are, its types, its effects on the person, how its promoted by drug dealers, and its psychological and physical damage to the individual addict in particular, as well as the social damage to society in general.
It aims to educate students about the dangers and psychological and mental harm to drug users, and that excessive drug use leads to the occurrence of chronic psychological diseases and serious mental disorders.
The Dean of the College, Prof. Baqir Turki Attia, explained that the Deanship of the College is keen to establish such awareness activities that serve a large segment of our dear students, as its illustrate the great danger of this societal scourge, which is trying to penetrate into the body of our cohesive society, in addition to cultural and sports activities that also combat this danger.
