Under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of Southern Technical University, the university continues its active participation in the Tawasol Project, implemented by the World University Service of Canada and overseen by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The university delegation, represented by Dr. Maher Talib Al-Shamkhani, Director of the Continuing Education Center, and Asst. Prof. Ahmed Muzafar Abdul-Amir, Head of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division at the Technical Engineering College in Basra, attended the coordination meeting dedicated to reviewing the project’s activities.
Key topics of the meeting included soft skills training, digital skills, information technology, and entrepreneurship. Southern Technical University was recognized as a successful model for building partnerships with both the private and public sectors across various industries.
Additionally, several university staff members participated in a year-long training program, contributing to an increase in the number of training programs available to students, enhancing their ability to integrate into both local and international labor markets.
Notably, more than 15,000 beneficiaries have received training through the Continuing Education Center, Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division, along with their supporting units, in just one year. This achievement reflects the university’s commitment to serving students and society, as well as its contribution to advancing the country’s knowledge-based economy
