The tasks of the Planning Department

:The following tasks are assigned

  • Preparing comprehensive studies (technical and economic feasibility) to determine the requirements for new project creation or rehabilitation and maintenance of existing infrastructure, and setting priorities for their implementation and planning their execution.

  • Preparing and auditing project forms for discussion with relevant parties to include them in the ministry’s plan or the regional development budget, in coordination with the Government Contracts Department to complete all requirements, including land preparation and design completion.
  • Monitoring the allocation of funds for projects planned for execution within the investment plan.
  • Following up on the release of funds and transfers for projects, in addition to auditing and disbursing advances prepared by the resident engineer’s departments, in coordination with the Implementation Department.
  • Participating in committees for bid opening and analysis, as well as any tasks assigned to support the work of the Engineering Affairs Department in general.
  • Participating in pricing committees, additional time periods, and other tasks to generally support the department.
  • Involving engineers and skilled personnel in the department to provide technical advice to support the work of the Projects and Construction Department.
  • Studying the operational efficiency of implemented infrastructure and identifying weaknesses to be addressed in future designs, as well as reviewing the latest designs and materials used in university building projects and studying the possibility of benefiting from them in line with the requirements of university projects.
