On Thursday, 15th of August 2024, the training course on “Computer Fundamentals and Applications”, organized by the Continuing Education Center at the Southern Technical University, was concluded, targeting a selection of South Refineries Company employees. The course focused on enhancing basic computer skills and providing participants with the knowledge needed to use basic technical applications that contribute to enhancing their professional competence.
The course was chaired by Professor Dr. Issa Ahmed Abdul, a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering Technology – Basra and Head of Engineering Technologies for Control and Automation. He gave lectures during the course which lasted for days, addressing topics on how to use a computer in the working environment, including basic software, text processing applications, data management using electronic tables, presentations, as well as Internet basics.
The conclusion of the course was witnessed by the Director of the Continuing Education Centre of the Southern Technical University, who commended the efforts of the participants in the course and stressed the importance of such training programmes aimed at enhancing the staff members’ capacities and enabling them to use modern techniques in the working environment.
Participants in the session expressed appreciation for the knowledge they had acquired, which enabled them to improve their functioning and deal effectively with digital tools in their day-to-day tasks.
