Under the sponsorship and presence of the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, and with the attendance of the Vice Presidents of the University for Academic and Administrative Affairs, the Deans of all formations, and members of the University Council, the ninth session of the Southern Technical University Council was held. The President of the University opened the session by welcoming the council members and expressing his gratitude and appreciation to all of them, especially those who endured the travel and attendance from the formations of Maysan and Thi Qar provinces.
Professor Dr. Ateeq praised the efforts of all formations during the past period related to scientific conferences and qualitative product exhibitions that were witnessed by all formations, with the University President attending most of them.
The University Council’s schedule included a number of important points, foremost of which was discussing the necessary preparations to conduct final exams at the university and the necessity of paying attention to the instructions in this aspect and making them clear to everyone, especially those related to students. The Council also discussed amending the percentages for distributing residential floors in university housing.
The council discussed a memo from the Institutional Accreditation Committee and reviewed the report from the workshop on analyzing research indicators for Iraqi universities and their impact on the QS rankings. The council also examined the procedures for implementing the National Strategy for Education and Training program for the year 2024 and the recommendations from the first National Green Education Conference, which was organized under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
