A number of members of the Department of Media and Government Communication at the Southern Technical University participated in an international training workshop on the art of writing journalistic stories and editing news, with the participation of a number of employees of government technical universities in the country, with the aim of developing their media and professional skills. The workshop, which was lectured by the international trainer and former director of Reuters International, Mohammed bin Hassan, included topics including writing press news, its types and importance, in addition to the art of attracting the public and the best ways to draw attention, as well as the importance of the press conference, its requirements and the mechanism of its success. The workshop aims to increase the experiences and develop the skills of the working participants. In the field of media, which contributes to the advancement of media work in university institutions, the workshop witnessed practical application by the participants on the topics they received, as well as reading many news samples and various formats within news agencies. It is noteworthy that the workshop comes within the Izdiharak project funded by the European Union and in cooperation and coordination with five ministries concerned with this aspect, including the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This project includes holding workshops in various professions for the purpose of transferring advanced internationatraining l expertise to benefit from it locally.
