The Southern Technical University hosted the regular meeting of the Technical Education Authority with the technical universities in the center and the Kurdistan region, in the presence of UNESCO. Hosting Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, President of the University of Basra. The meeting’s topics covered: the speech of the President of the Technical Education Authority and the President of the Central Technical University, Professor Dr. Amer Hatem, in addition to the heads of the technical universities. During the meeting, an introductory documentary film about the Southern Technical University and the most important programs and steps related to it was shown. Partnerships with the labor market and companies operating in Basra Governorate, in addition to the university’s role in qualifying graduates and building their capabilities with the requirements of the labor market. During the meeting, the results of the (TVET2) project were reviewed by the UNESCO representative, and the future directions and proposals of the (TVET3) project were presented. The meeting discussed the follow-up and referral of the investment plan for the year 2024. The meeting also dealt with building bridges of cooperation between technical universities and the rest of the universities inside and outside Iraq in order to develop technical education in Iraq in a way that serves the development process in this country. The meeting also discussed the topic of the Bologna Technical Track and the possibility of developing the track in its third phase (IVET3). Mr. President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, described the meeting as lively and productive and comes at an important time to be one of the important tributaries of development in Iraq. He welcomed the arrival of the distinguished university presidents and all guests. Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq expressed his deep appreciation that these meetings, which have With interest and follow-up and the activities and meetings that include it in the presence of international organizations concerned with scientific affairs, it will have positive effects on the scientific process in these universities and throughout Iraq.
