The College of Engineering Technology, Basra, within the southern Southern University, discussed ways of joint cooperation with the Iranian Petroleum Technological University. This came during a meeting between the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, and the President of the University of Petroleum, Dr. Mohammad Jahar Dooley, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, which was attended by the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Mohammad Halil Al-Kaabi, the material and human capabilities of the college were reviewed, as well as the opening of horizons for scientific and research cooperation in addition to technical training between the two sides. The two sides discussed creating research opportunities, training students, and holding joint scientific conferences and exhibitions. It is noteworthy that the Petroleum Technological University is a government university affiliated with the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum. It includes four colleges: the College of Petroleum in Ahvaz, the College of Petroleum in Abadan, and the College of Petroleum in Tehran in addition to the College of Mahmoudabad. This university is considered one of the accredited universities in the classification of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
