The Shatra technical institute, within the Southern Technical University, organized a training course for the Institute’s employees on Sustainable Development, where the course in which assistant teacher Sattar Awad dhamid lectured included the definition of sustainable development, what are its goals, what are its fields, in addition to its benefits at the community and individual levels, and the lecturer also explained the principles of sustainable development as well as how to maintain it. The session concluded that the ideals and principles underlying sustainable development include broad concepts such as intergenerational equality, peace, tolerance, poverty reduction, conservation and maintenance of the environment, conservation of Natural Resources, and social justice. The dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Muwaffaq Abdul Aziz Al-Hasnawi, explained that the scientific curriculum of the programs prepared in the scientific departments of the Institute stressed the importance of being identical with the goals and mission of our institute about providing the best for students and associates and strengthening partnership with them to serve the educational process, pointing to the importance of such courses as they contribute effectively to the qualification of trainees
