A master’s thesis was discussed at the Graduate School of the Southern Technical University about the prevalence of hypothyroidism in infertile women and its relationship to pituitary hormones.
The thesis presented by the student (Ali Sabah Jamil) in the master’s program included pathological analysis techniques to study the prevalence of hypothyroidism in infertile women and its relationship to pituitary hormones.
The thesis aims to find out the extent of hypothyroidism in infertile women and to evaluate the thyroid and pituitary hormones.
The study was conducted at the IVF Center of Ibn Ghazwan Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Basra Governorate between 2021/2022.
It included 30 sterile women with hypothyroidism, 30 women without hypothyroidism, and 30 women who were able to conceive.
The study concluded that there is a very strong positive correlation between the measurement of body mass index and the level of cortisone, in addition to a strong negative correlation between the levels(TSHوT4 و مستوى TSH,T3,FSH,LH).
