The Student Activities section at the Southern Technical University organized a pentathlon championship for the university formations within the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar and Maysan in preparation for the universities championship that will be organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The championship, which was attended by the university’s assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, as well as the deans of the participating colleges and institutes, in addition to the officials of the student activities sections, witnessed many matches that revealed important sports energies that will contribute to the university’s team in the subsequent sports participations and competitions.Director of the Student Activities Section of the university, Dr. Munaf Hussein Odeh, said that the directives of the president of. the university, Prof. Dr. Rabie Hashem AlAbbasi, insist that the importance of organizing sports championships for students and make cultural activities and competitions as they enhance their physical and intellectual aspects, pointing out that the university will participate in the championship for futsal pentathlon, which The Ministry will organize it at a later time with a university team to the university’s formations. The tournament concluded with a big victory for the Basra Technical Institute over its counterpart the Administrative Technical College, where trophies and gifts were distributed to the winning teams at the end of the championship.
