The seventh meeting convened by the Council of the Southern Technical University for the academic year 2021/2022. The Council has begun by congratulating the Rector, Prof. Dr. Rabee Hashim Al-Abbasi, to the members of the Council, for Rajab, the month of the mercy, to ask, may Allah spread His mercy and grant us with goodness and blessings. Then the Council has discussed the need to continue giving vaccine doses to students of the dormitory, in addition to emphasize the continuous follow-up of the students’ health status and report any injuries, if any, to apply the Ministry’s recommendations in this regard. In the same regard, the Rector has emphasized the need to visit the dormitory by the Deans and their assistants, with the reports of the visit sent to the Presidency of the University. The Council has emphasized the need to test teaching methods for those who hold a master’s degree and those who have obtained the scientific title. The Council also reviewed the request of Shatra Technical College to create an evening study for the medical laboratories department, which is included in the morning study. As well as to create of the Department of Mechanics of Power and Techniques of Anesthesia and Intensive Care within the evening study at Basra Technical Institute and the Mechanical Techniques at Nasiriya Technical Institute. After that, the Council has discussed the remaining articles on its agenda and stated the necessary recommendations and decisions to that effect. Furthermore, the oil expert, Engineer Ali Raheem Al-Fartousi, the director of Basra Oil Training Institute, attended the proceedings of the conference.
